Home Economics, now known as Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) or Career and Technical Education (CTE), should be brought back to all schools. These programs cover modern topics such as culinary arts, personal finance, nutrition, child development, and life skills. Some form of Woodworking and mechanics would be helpful. Maybe as after-school programs. I realize that budget restrictions have caused these programs to fall by the wayside and be offered only rarely. At the very least, Parenting should be a course taught in all High Schools.
