Small Doll, Big Trouble, Lots of Love
Bad Doll began with one small idea: What if a creepy little doll wandered into my living room while Taz and I were watching television and tugged on my blanket?
Naturally, we screamed. I chased her. And just like that, a troublemaker was born.
What I didn’t expect was how much fun I would have bringing her to life—or how quickly she would develop a personality of her own. With her wild orange hair, cracked porcelain face, and complete disregard for household rules, Bad Doll has become the little superstar of my creative world.
Each adventure brings fresh mischief, mayhem, and something for her to clean up afterward. She now has her own magical portal, which lets her travel almost anywhere. There is just one place she cannot return to: Hell.
They won’t let her back in!
Honestly, after living with her, I can understand their decision.
Underneath that mischievous grin, though, is a little character I’ve grown to love. Bad Doll gives me a reason to imagine, laugh, and ask, “What trouble could she possibly get into next?” The answer usually means more work for me—and very little peace for Taz.
Now her adventures are spilling beyond the screen. She has her own coloring pages and an Amazon puzzle and coloring book, Bad Doll’s Mischief and Mayhem, bringing a little of her chaos to the page.

You can also find her Bad Doll Adventures playlist on my Deshe YouTube channel. Come meet the little menace and see what she’s been up to.
And there may be another adventure ahead: I’ve sent inquiries about having Bad Doll produced as an actual doll. Nothing is settled yet, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Imagine holding that little handful of trouble in your hands!
At 70, I’m discovering that one playful idea can open doors I never expected. In Bad Doll’s case, it opened a portal—and now I’m responsible for whatever comes through it.
If Bad Doll came to your house, what do you think she would get into first?
