Tamal en Cazuela

Daily writing prompt
What’s the best local dish you’ve ever eaten while traveling?

The best local dish I had while traveling was in Mazatlan, Mexico. I went to a local taco place where they had Tamal en cazuelas set up with a variety of meats and fish. I had the Chicharron (pork rinds) tamal, which was delicious.

Another great dish was in Panama City, Panama, at the local Seafood Market (Mercado de Mariscos). I had whole fried snapper and an ice-cold Panamanian beer. I also checked out their local eateries known as “fondas.” The food was delicious, varied, and inexpensive.
