I’ve had gut feelings throughout most of my tumultuous life, especially when I was younger. I had to make many important, life-changing decisions, sometimes on the fly. Some were good, others were mixed, and still others were bad decisions that changed the course of my life forever.
Most of my decisions centered around who to live with and why. A product of separated parents and a broken home.
I believe life takes you on a journey, and there is no point in thinking that things should be anything other than what they are. I am in a very good place now, retired and, for once, at peace. I no longer need to rely on gut feelings, anxiety, or life-changing decisions.
The one gut decision I made that turned out right was to retire after 30 years with the Post Office. I was only 48, too young to be retired. But it allowed me to do work I really enjoyed. I became a Graphic Designer for a major Newspaper. My dream career.
