Dan took a position on the building directly in front of the park where the speech was to be held. A large crowd of like-minded people gathered, waving flags, undaunted by the heat. They came to listen to their hero’s call to action. They sensed that he spoke to them and addressed their concerns.
When he finally stepped to the podium, the crowd cheered, feeling justified in their hate. The liberals ruined the country, immigrants stole their jobs, and the gays were a moral perversion.
A single, precise shot hit its target, and the hero was silenced.
There are always two points of view that don’t agree; the choices we make are what make us heroes or villains.
