George Orwell’s “1984” should be followed by “2026 You Can’t Make This Up.” Getting the popcorn now. This story changes minute by minute and never stops surprising me. A total Theater of the Absurd is unfolding; one can’t even get true news. Just like in 1984, they make it up as they go or to fit their agenda. I could go on and on, but frankly, this story needs a fitting end. Time magazine would probably need three end-of-year issues to cover 2026. I can’t decide what’s worse this year; there are so many highlights, the latest being that they are propping up “Dead People.” I’d cry hysterically if it weren’t so sad and absurd.
