Darn Sleep

Daily writing prompt
What do you do to improve your sleep?

Sleep is like smoke, I work hard to catch it

Slips through my fingers night after night

I try to catch it in a box

I’ll yawn, and I’ll yawn

And chase it around

Two hands releasing swirling smoke above a bed with rumpled sheets

Sleep is a monster, robbing my mind

Taking me places deep, down, and dark

Sometimes, the monster and I have a fight

I’ll yawn, and I’ll yawn

And battle it out

A dark, ghostly shadow monster with glowing eyes and sharp claws looming over a child's bed with a stuffed bunny

Sleep is a sanctuary, A safe place to be

Lifting me through puffy clouds

Sometimes, I wander in awe and wonder

I’ll yawn, and I’ll yawn

And then I’m out

Four-poster bed with blue starry bedding floating on clouds beneath a star-filled night sky with the Milky Way
