Daily writing prompt
If you could relive one year of your life, which one would it be?

Each moment of happiness or pleasure is a rare treasure, safely locked in memory. Is there a whole year I’d want to relive? No, because those moments of happiness also come with suffering. It is in the very nature of the cycle of life. We may remember the highlights, but we forget the tight shoes and awkward moments, the stomachache from eating and celebrating too much. How about those next days? Let’s suppose it is actually a great week: you are on vacation, the sights are beautiful, the cruise is awesome, the Caribbean’s turquoise waters are gorgeous, and the music is exciting. You forgot: the nausea on the first day of the cruise; maybe you began to feel sick and wanted to get off the boat. How about enjoying those Piña Coladas on the beautiful outer island, while the cabana boy sprayed you with Evian water as you sat on a lounge chair, then getting back to the cabin sunburned and looking like a lobster, and spending the next day soaking in a tub to get the heat out of your painful skin.

No, thank you. I take life as it comes, enjoy the good times, and let go of the bad times.
