My Aunt Mary, who raised me very formally, would flip if she saw me now, eating dinner on the couch in front of the TV. Two big “You don’t do that.” The TV was never on when dinner was served. You sat at the properly set table, used the proper utensils, and actually held conversations with each other. Now, my roommate and I eat dinner on the couch while scrolling on our phones or laptops and watching TV, occasionally saying a couple of words to each other.
