When Life Gives You Lemons

Daily writing prompt
Do you think everything happens for a reason?

When life gives you lemons, make arroz con pollo. Don’t see it as a setback but as a challenge to rise to the occasion. I’ve had to reinvent myself over and over. Each time I rise, I learn a lesson and examine the sequence of events. Usually, the law of causation is at play. Karma plays a big role in how things turn out and how they affect us. Our reactions create further Karma. If you believe in Karma, you understand that its ripened effect is definitely felt, either in this life or in our future lives. Things don’t just happen to us for no reason; there is cause and effect. Many times, people say they did not deserve this or that, but they need to look deeper. It is not just random events coming at us from nowhere. We created what we are experiencing. Karma does not ripen on the innocent; somewhere in our wicked little past, we did something. And that goes for good Karma ripening as well. Not everything is bad news.
