More Dharma, Less Drama

Daily writing prompt
What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?

My morning Café con Leche is a ritual; sitting and doing my daily blog and trying to write short stories have improved my attitude about being retired. I now relax more, expecting less. I no longer have the urge to do something because I am being consistent in writing and taking an online Creative Writing Class. I’m taking the time to read more. I no longer sweat the small stuff. I try my best to go with the flow and let go of the expectation that things ought to be other than they are. When I was younger, my life was one drama after another. I remember my mother saying when things reached a crescendo, “Boom, la bomba estallo!” Meaning the bomb finally exploded. Now my motto is more Dharma, less Drama. I take my Buddhist teachings to heart. I view everything I encounter as a teaching, a lesson, a mirror.
