Not your average pigeon in a hole
I’m all things: passionate, reflective, artistic, poetic, scientific, loyal, and caring—a realist, stoic most of the time, a hermit sometimes. Now, I prefer to keep my life quiet without much drama. My friends are pillars of support, which I choose carefully. Therefore, you can say I’m not a pigeon in a hole.
I enjoyed a bit of La Vida Loca in my youth.
You can’t say I’m stuck in my ways. First, I Enjoyed a bit of La Vida Loca in my youth: punk rocker, slam dancer, disco dancer, gay, straight, drinking, and smoking cigars, but settled and calm now. Second, I could cuss like a sailor or be sweet as apple pie. Third, I love all kinds of music and people. But Fourth, I don’t like unkind people. And that never changes, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love them either. Finally, I am quick to anger and quick to forgive and forget.
My idea of a productive life
Being a stuck pigeon in a hole differs from my idea of a productive life. I would never have grown had I not re-invented myself so many times. I’ve made many mistakes and repeated them sometimes, okay, lots of times, but I eventually learned not to fall into the same traps. This is growth.
First Print, linoleum cut
I’ve been my own best therapist, using my art to heal and express my deepest emotions: printmaking, acrylic painting, Journaling, poetry, and now blogging and baking bread. The bread of life!
Always odd, 13 instead of 12 buns
I have a handmade book of prints in the Main Library of Fort Lauderdale called “Inside Myself.” This was my second project on the road to healing my pain. My first project was a series of large acrylic paintings of inner child work. Blogging is my third project, reflecting on things that matter to me now.
