What do I want to do with the rest of my life?

What do I want to do with the rest of my life? I’m 68 years old and have been working since I was 14. I’m now facing permanent retirement, and it’s an emotional rollercoaster trying to decide whether to stay retired or return to work. If I go back to work, should I return to the same type of work or learn something new? I want something different, something new! I’ve realized that family, friends, food, and fun are essential to me. This blog is dedicated to all of us baby boomers asking ourselves, “Now what?”

What do I want to do with the rest of my life? I want to be bold and brave, to once again Reinvent myself. This is not the first time I have asked myself this question. I have reinvented myself many times; I went from grocery store cashier at 14 to United States Post Office Clerk for 30 years. Again, when I retired from the Postal Service at 48, I knew I was still young and ready to go explore more career opportunities. So, I became a new car sales associate, a graphic artist for a major Fort Lauderdale newspaper, a Buddhist nun, a Pediatric LPN, and finally a teacher’s assistant ESE for the Broward County School system.

Since August 17, I have been fully retired, but I have started new hobbies, such as bread baking and this blog. Now, should I find new work or retire?

What do I want to do with the rest of my life? I want to learn new things and grow in wisdom; there is always time to teach this old dog some new tricks!

Walking and listening to music is the re-invented life of the retiree

Join me in my little corner of the universe. I am exploring aging, wisdom, family, friendships, food, and having fun. I want to share this journey with you and would love your feedback and ideas.
